Sailor Moon steps up to battle but quickly loses ground. He has succeeded in opening the Dark Gate and begins his attack against the world. As the three (mother, father and daughter) return to Earth together, Wiseman appears above them. Wiseman tries to interfere again, engulfing them in a columnt of dark energy but Serenity saves Black Lady with the power of her love and the Silver Crystal restores all of ChibiUsa's memories. There is a flash of light and to everyone's amazement Sailor Moon is transformed into Neo-Queen Serenity. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask join hands and unite their power.
Unfortunately, Wiseman quickly regains control over Black Lady, and she renews her attack. Black Lady falters for a moment, and the girls manage to break Wiseman's brainwashing. Tuxedo Mask blocks a blast meant for Sailor Moon and is injured.
The Sailor Warriors confront Black Lady, trying to convince her to stop this madness and turn good again. The Hulu announcement follows plans to reboot Sailor Moon with a new series this July. The fifth season, which featured the non-binary Sailor Starlights and was never aired stateside, will stream in full. Gay male characters Zoisite and Fisheye, who were presented as women in the North American release, will retain their original gender and orientation. Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, an out lesbian couple whose romantic relationship was removed entirely in the English-language dub, will remain intact. Sailor Moon’s gay, lesbian, and non-binary storylines, censored when the series first aired in North America, will be presented uncut in Hulu’s release. Localized for North American audiences in the 1990s, the series remains wildly popular in its native Japan while maintaining a dedicated stateside cult following.
